Wayne Eagles - Biography
Although currently instructing a wide-range of styles, Wayne was the first person to teach rock guitar in a Canadian University. He has been a Guitar Performance Instructor at Carleton University's School for Studies in Art and Culture (SSAC: Music) since September 1992.
Wayne's work has been funded through grants from the Canada Council, numerous radio stations, as well as through provincial and regional funding bodies. Wayne's performance history includes appearances at various Canadian Jazz and Blues Festivals, University music showcases, numerous television appearances, and extensive club work.
Upcoming projects include a trio CD with bassist Mike Milligan and drummer Billy Kilson (best known for his work with Dave Holland). Current projects include The Bitches Brew Tribute Band, the jazz-rock jam band CHUNGA, Moe Tongue (blues-rock & funk) and the N.E.W.S. Quartet.
His latest release is the jazz/rock CD Milligan-Eagles Project on the TetraArtist label (CD-001).
Wayne lives in Ottawa - Canada's national capital - with his wife Anna, son Jake and daughter Natasha.
